When should I / my child see an orthodontist?
Although there is never a bad time to bring your child in for a wellness check, we generally say that 7 years of age is most appropriate so that we can screen for early signs of problems. Dr. Mongillo sees the causes and effects of orthodontic problems daily and can make recommendations to help guide growth or intervene when necessary. If you ever notice anything unusual or questionable please feel free to reach out to us!
What is an orthodontist?
Orthodontists are dentists who have received an additional 2-3 years of schooling and thousands of hours in specialized training. This allows them to be very perceptive when it comes to the growth, development, and position of the teeth, gums, and jaw. This skillset means that orthodontists are the most knowledgeable and effective dental specialists to solve even the most complex issues simply.
